Group Information
Category:
Name:
Christian Patriots
Description:
This is an informal group designed to provide guidance to those living for Christ, especially in consideration of the times that we are living.

This group has been formed first and foremost to honor our Lord and Savior.

Secondly to aid in carrying forth our Christian lifestyle, and the engaging of the culture in such ways as to encourage the return to our governing documents as intended by our founding fathers.

Finally the group hopes to provide discussion on the Biblical parameters within whose boundaries we must operate as it relates to organizing, voting, promoting, and if needed possibly even resistance.

Christian Martyrs in Colombia
On May 7, 2009 Open Doors International released a report that two men had entered the home of church leader Jose Rodriguez and his wife Emilse Maria del Carmen. The men opened fire; Jose and Emilse did not survive. They left behind three children, Heidy (9), Ambar (2), and Juan (2mos). This is their story...

The small brown fingers of a nine year old girl dug their way into the moist Colombian soil. As her hand pulled away a fistful of dirt, the pudgy forefinger and thumb of her two year old sister dropped a small seed into the ground.

It was Sunday morning, and the Rodriguez family had been unable to go to church because of unrest in the Arauca area. Heidy and Ambar, the daughters of Jose and Emilse Rodriguez were out working in the garden, their efforts evidenced by the small row of little dirt mounds retreating behind the girls’ crouched figures.

In the middle of scooping a handful of dirt, Heidy’s hand froze in alarm. Her head snapped to the left as the sound of a door slammed against the side of the rough plaster wall of the Rodriguez’ home. From the back garden, Heidy could hear the deep angry voices of men calling into the house, but could see no one. She jumped up, her right hand holding a fistful of dirt and her left hand holding her little sister, and ran towards the voices.

As the girls neared the house, Heidy looked through the doorway and saw the outline of her mother step towards the intruders. Heidy heard her mother begin to say something, but the words had barely left her lips when a shot rang out. Heidy’s mother crumbled to the floor, and Heidy, pulling Ambar with her, dropped to the ground in shock. Just as she was beginning to comprehend that someone had shot her mother, another shot rang out and her mother’s body jerked.

Ambar began to cry. Heidy pulled Ambar against her chest to shield the two year olds eyes and then buried her own face in Ambar’s dark curly hair. But she could not block out the dreadful sounds that came out of the house. The gun rang out again. And again. And again.

Eight times the intruders pointed their guns at Emilse Rodriguez. During a brief pause, Heidy looked up and through her hot tears saw her father Jose in the room. Six more gun shots echoed through the house and Jose’s body slumped to the floor next to his wife’s.

The front door slammed and the men’s voices faded into the distance. Heidy remained low to the ground--shaking. Eventually, Ambar began to kick and squirm. Heidy slowly got up and then allowed the toddler to pull her towards the doorway through which the nightmare had occurred.

Inside, Heidy saw her parents’ wounded bodies—it was the last time she would ever see them.

Ambar did not understand what had happened and tried to place her small hand on their mother’s bloody cheek. Heidy pulled her hand away, but not before the two year old had gotten blood on her fingers. When Heidy began to cry, so did the confused toddler. As the girls held each other and cried, their mother’s blood and the dirt on their hands mixed with their tears and leaving dark streaks on their faces.

Looking through the side window, Heidy could see her grandparents and neighbors coming towards the house. They would take care of the bodies; right now all Heidy wanted to do was run away. She took her sister’s hand and led her back outside. Someday Heidy would explain to Ambar that their parents had been Christian martyrs—murdered by one of Colombia’s guerrilla groups because they believed in Christ. But in that moment all Heidy could do was whisper in the little girl’s ear:

“My parents now are in heaven. And we--we are under Lord Jesus.”

A note from DivineMessenger- This is a regular occurrence. There have been more men, women, and children martyred for their faith in Christ in the last 200 years than in the previous 1800 years combined !! You just do not hear about it from the mainstream media. This is primarily at the hands of Muslims and Hindus but individual governments are also responsible as well. The average number of Christian martyrs per year worldwide is 163,000. According to a 1998 report by the Helsinki International Federation for Human Rights

Please pray for our persecuted family members. Remember how blessed we are to live in a country that still allows us to speak (for the time being). But then do not squander the opportunities we have to share Gods word, His love, and of the resources that He has made you steward (not owner).

My wife is in Denver for training. Tuesday nights are usually our date nights. Nothing huge just nice homemade meals and a movie or Biggest Loser or Americas got Talent depending on the time of year. But since she was out of town took the opportunity to ride with the Gillette chapter of the CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association). They provided clues to checkpoints around town that eventually lead to the final destination.... DINNER : ) What can I say I love food lol. God Bless You All.

Values Voter Summit 2010
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subj: You are invited to the most exciting meeting there is in Washington - the Values Voter Summit 2010
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Make plans now to attend - space is limited and expected to fill fast!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Most Americans across the political spectrum would agree that we want our nation's future to be bright - for our nation to be that shining city on a hill that President Reagan so often referenced. But while we envision a future with limited government, lower taxes, traditional marriage, protection of life from conception to natural death, military readiness, religious freedom and individual responsibility, the President and liberal members of Congress envision a future with taxpayer funded abortion on demand, open homosexuality in our military, same-sex "marriage", out of control earmarks and federal spending, government-run health care, unprecedented deficits, tax incentives that penalize marriage and stay-at-home parental child care moms, policies that would drive conservative and Christian voices off the ra dio and internet.

And the list goes on. Their agenda erodes the moral foundation of our nation, increases our economic instability, weakens our military and drives us toward bankruptcy at an unbelievable speed.

That's why American Family Association, FRC Action, American Values, The Heritage Foundation, Liberty University/Liberty Counsel and Family Research Counsel are joining together on September 17-19 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. to bring you the Values Voter Summit 2010. Come and stand with others from all over our nation as we look toward the critical 2010 elections. Get equipped with information on how we can help change the course of our country.

In addition to dynamic speeches by national leaders and policy makers (like AFA's Bryan Fischer), the Summit will feature other opportunities: informative breakout sessions on the economy, marriage and the family, national security, religious liberty, life, organizing your community and other important issues-of-the-day topics; book signings by renowned authors; meals with special speakers hosted by each sponsoring organization (Don Wildmon will speak at the AFA Luncheon); a "meet and greet" event and breakout just for students; exhibits by other pro-family organizations; a private reception preceding the Faith, Family & Freedom Gala Dinner honoring Don Wildmon, Chairman Emeritus, American Family Association; and a moving Sunday morning worship service.

The registration fee is $99 per person and $50 for students. Packages with additional activities are listed on the website. To register, you may call 1-877-372-2808 or visit www.valuesvotersummit.org.

This September, please consider joining like minded conservatives in the nation's capital who are determined to make a difference. If we will join together in praying for our nation and taking an unyielding stand for faith, family and freedom, we will succeed in bringing real change to America! With your prayers and support, we will not only defend our values, we will advance them in this critical hour. We can be certain that God's mercy, grace and love will guide us regardless of the challenges looming on the horizon.

Sincerely,

Tim Wildmon, President
American Family Association

There are numerous assaults against Christianity today. The worst of these are coming from within its own walls. Please do not be fooled!! Even if every man woman and child on the face of the planet decides that it is OK to commit murder IT WOULD STILL BE SIN TO GOD!! This applies to Lying, Adultery, Fornication, Stealing, and YES to HOMOSEXUALITY as well. If a church teaches any different run do not walk away from that denomination. If a church ordains practicing homosexuals, run don't walk. There is no gray area here. The bible (GOD's Word) is perfectly clear on this issue please do not be swayed by twisted arguments not taken in context and peoples assumptions on how Jesus would respond. When Jesus was speaking to the woman who was caught in the act of adultery, did He say I love you its all OK...... next time try not to get caught? Of course not He did tell her that he does not accuse her but then He said go and SIN NO MORE. If that woman did not heed Christs words and died living a life of sin, she will spend eternity in Hell. If she repented and tried to walk as Jesus commanded then she is with Him now in Heaven. Sin is sin. All sin (when practiced) leads to death no matter who's name you call upon. Mat 7:21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. It is not the struggle with sin that will land someone in Hell. We all do things in our daily life that are sinful even when we know better. But afterwards we are grieved by our actions, we confess it to God, ask his forgiveness, and then try not to make the same mistake. This is a picture of true repentance. A much larger problem arises when you call that which is evil to be good and continue practicing what God has declared as sin. It is this kind of heart attitude that unless corrected will land a person in Hell 100% of the time. No Matter How Many People, Pastors, churches, or denominations declare that some sin is OK.

In this day and age there are many peoples and entities that are trying to lead people astray. It can be difficult discerning who has the correct teachings. Here are some resources to help any who are interested on staying on the right path.

There are so many good resources out there to help us better understand the word of God. Obviously the best is to be plugged into a church where they teach and preach the Word of GOD. Often times this might mean being involved in functions other than Sunday mornings. If your place of worship does not offer additional Bible study groups I'm sure that there are others that would welcome you to their study groups without having to change church affiliation (if you did not want to).

Another good resource is Calvary Satellite Network (CSN) just go on line to http://www.csnradio.com/ there is a tab there for finding stations in your area. These stations are 90% teaching all day every day. They are also a good way to locate churches in your area that will have solid teaching.

Finally there is a great resource in E-Sword · www.e-sword.net. This is a FREE download that gives you several versions of the Bible. I use King James, New King James, and my favorite is the ESV English Standard Version. With this download you can get many great commentaries for free that help explain each verse and gives settings and historical information about the times and places. A couple of the good commentaries are GILL, CLARK, and BARNES.

God Bless and Keep You

Please be proactive in what ever your beliefs may be!! Do not just sit there and nod your head in agreement, yell at the TV, or shrug your shoulders as if there is nothing that can be done.

First and foremost Faith - Tell people about Christ!! Tell them what He has done in your life. Explain that we are all sinners in need of a Savior. Tell them that God loves them but also that He is a just and righteous God that HAS placed requirements on our lives. The Bible tells us that we are not our own that our lives have been bought and paid for with a price…… That price of course is the broken and bloody body of Christ hanging on the cross. He did this for me, for you, and for all peoples of all times!! Please, PLEASE share this news with all that you come in contact with! Get involved advance the kingdom of God.

Politics and issues; as stated earlier Please Do Something!! Forward emails, write blogs or post comments, STAY INFORMED, call or write individuals who can do something (newspapers, representatives, TV stations, give financial support (after your tithe), attend rallies, buy a bumper sticker, anything at all just make sure that it is something.

It is people who transformed this nation into what it is today …… and we the people can change it back. But only if we care enough and back it up with our resources. (Time, energy, money, prayer, and the gifts that the good Lord has given you)

God Bless and Keep You All
